On Wednesday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez inaugurated the Mission Nevado pet shelter, which will provide safe refuge and medical care to animals living on the streets.

Despite the devastating effects of the double earthquake that struck June 24, Venezuela is demonstrating its resilience with the creation of this shelter, which has volunteers and veterinarians who have worked tirelessly to ensure comprehensive care, vaccinations and protection for pets.
Also present at the inauguration of the facilities were Mission Nevado President Maigualida Vargas and pet shelter coordinator Ana Paredes.
The center, which is opening its doors to animals rescued from La Guaira state following the earthquakes, has a high-level surgical area, a state-of-the-art incubator, and a clinical laboratory equipped with artificial intelligence for precision diagnoses.
The facilities also have a specialized cat room, an institutional kitchen for specific diets and recreational areas for emotional recovery. Veterinarians will offer services including complex surgery, dentistry, and training.

Rodriguez Delivers Rehabilitated Homes in Caracas
On Tuesday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez led the handover of rehabilitated homes in the San Bernardino parish of Caracas that were affected by the June earthquakes.
The recovery work on these buildings was carried out as part of the Venezuela Rises Again Plan, created by the Bolivarian government to provide assistance to homes damaged by the double earthquake.
The Venezuela Rises Again Plan is providing financing to 27 condominium boards and more than 400 property owners to restore their homes. It is also delivering 102 homes that will benefit 403 people.
“It is the greatest happiness to be able to return to your home. All the programs we have designed to support people who lost their homes or whose homes were affected are currently activated,” the Venezuelan leader said.
“The path is unity so that Venezuelans can embrace each other as one family and no one feels alone in the face of the problems resulting from the earthquake,” she added.
