Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned imperialist efforts to sow chaos and division in the world, calling for the defense of multilateralism: “Imperial unilateralism seeks to impose its law by force, but the multipolar world is here to stay.” Pointing to climate catastrophe, devastating regional wars, and rapidly expanding wealth inequality, Díaz-Canel stated, “The crisis of capitalism has reached its most acute point.” Amid US attacks on his country, he once again asserted that the Cuban Revolution would not surrender. Díaz-Canel delivered the speech in Havana on Monday as part of the opening address to the First International Colloquium Fidel: Legacy and Future, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro.
