Activists with @palestinianyouthmovement and @wawog_now rallied outside The New York Times office on Monday, accusing the outlet of consistently “defending” and “justifying” the murders of Palestinian journalists to cover for Israeli war crimes. Monday was the start of a week of action in commemoration of Palestinian journalist Anas Al-Sharif, along with the over 270 other journalists assassinated by Israel since October 2023. Al-Sharif was killed on August 10, 2025 when Israeli forces targeted his media tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
