The political coalition announced that it has decided to actively join the national solidarity campaign with the populations affected by the earthquake, working in coordination with national and territorial authorities and risk management agencies.

Under the plan, the coalition will allocate funds to the Colombian Red Cross to contribute to humanitarian assistance and the accompaniment of victims. The party also placed its technical and operational support at the disposal of national and territorial authorities, relief agencies and emergency institutions, with the aim of helping communities affected by the quake.

The announcement comes as Colombia receives international aid following the deadly earthquake that shook the Pacific region. Rescue teams, health personnel and relief agencies continue working across the affected territories, while communities join in the protection and rescue of victims. The coalition said the collection center will receive donations of priority items, according to the needs identified on the ground, reinforcing the broader national effort to reach affected families with rapid and effective assistance.

Call for National Unity

The Historic Pact coalition requested updated public information from the Colombian government on the humanitarian crisis, including the real needs of the territories, the measures adopted, the resources allocated and the progress of assistance, in order to coordinate the delivery of aid effectively. At the same time, the coalition rejected any political use of the tragedy and called for national unity. “It is a time for unity, solidarity and strength,” the party expressed.

The organization also recognized the labor of authorities, health personnel, search and rescue teams, relief agencies, and the communities and individuals contributing to protection and rescue efforts. “The absolute priority must be to save as many lives as possible, assist affected families and ensure that aid reaches the territories quickly and effectively,” coalition members said.

The coalition said the collection center’s hours will be announced through its official channels, while donations of priority items, according to the needs identified, will be received at its Bogotá headquarters.
