Argentinian youth, who once fueled President Javier Milei’s political rise, are now leading the rejection of his government, with disapproval rates surpassing 70% among the youngest voters amid a controversial land foreign ownership law and a deepening economic crisis, according to recent polls from Alaska, Trespuntozero, Atlas Intel, and Opina Argentina.

Among voters aged 16 to 24, approval stands at just 23.1% while disapproval hits 76.9%. Meanwhile, in the 25 to 34 bracket, approval falls to 26.9% against 71.9% disapproval. Overall, Milei’s popularity is at 32.2% with disapproval at 64.8% according to the Alaska and Trespuntozero study closed July 29.

Atlas Intel reports a 62.4% disapproval rate, with the sharpest decline concentrated in younger demographics. Opina Argentina places general approval at 36%, with youth approval at 45% —slightly above average but sharply down from previous levels exceeding 70%.

Shila Vilker, director of Trespuntozero, noted that Milei’s support was always tied to public opinion, but that is changing, particularly among young people. Analysts agree the discontent stems not from specific issues but from the accumulated economic situation and the perception of deepening daily difficulties within families.

On the other hand, Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof will launch the youth branch of the “Right to the Future” Movement on August 22 at the German Gymnastics Society headquarters in Villa Ballester, San Martín. The initiative aims to provide a debate channel for youth and could turn this demographic into a key strategic battleground for the 2027 elections.
