Syrian Authorities Have Not Determined Whether Blast Was a Terrorist Attack as Forensic Teams Continue Recovery Efforts.
On Thursday, the Syrian news agency SANA reported that at least two people were killed and seven others were injured when a bomb exploded inside a minibus in Jaramana, a town on the outskirts of Damascus.

Currently, forensic teams are handling the human remains of other victims. Emergency services in the area are on maximum alert.
Medical teams have been deployed to the site of the explosion to provide a rapid response and immediately transport the injured to the nearest hospitals.
Syrian authorities have not yet revealed whether the incident was a terrorist attack, and no group has claimed responsibility so far.

In early July, during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, one person was killed and 36 others were injured in two explosions in central Damascus. According to the Syrian Interior Ministry, the incidents were carried out by individuals linked to the Islamic State terrorist group.
Three suspects were arrested amid the campaign launched by Syria’s new authorities against Islamic State cells following the fall of former President Bashar Assad in December 2024.
In early August, the Interior minister reported that authorities had arrested 235 suspected members of the group and thwarted seven planned operations during a three-month period, in an offensive that dismantled cells in the provinces of Hama, Aleppo, Deir al-Zour, Homs and Damascus. That attack took place in the Syrian capital one week after an explosion near the Palace of Justice that left 10 people dead.
