By Arms Embargo Now, August 6, 2026

Less than a month after launching the #ElbitOutOfCanada campaign, we have already secured our first victory.

After receiving emails and a handwritten note from concerned community members, the Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Microwaves in Montréal reached out to inform us that they are no longer doing business with Elbit Systems and have no intention of resuming operations with the company in the future:

“There are no current orders for Elbit, and none will be accepted going forward,” the Chief Operating Officer wrote to the Arms Embargo Now Team.

And Apollo is not the only company we’ve heard from. It’s clear that our efforts to take an arms embargo into our own hands are working. Companies all across the country are paying attention— and some of them are already signalling a willingness to cut ties with Elbit to avoid public scrutiny.

But we’re just getting started. On August 13th, we’re putting local Elbit suppliers on notice from coast to coast to coast.

Together, we’re sending them a clear message: drop your ties with Elbit Systems or face the reputational and financial consequences of your ongoing complicity in Israel’s genocide.

Already, actions have been registered across the country and there’s still time to organize an action in your community! As the case of Apollo makes clear, sometimes all you need is a handful of people to put these companies on notice to compel them to cut their ties.

If you have never organized an action before, don’t worry! We’ve broken down the process into 8 simple steps and will connect you with others in your community hoping to take action on August 13th.
