On Tuesday night, police destroyed an encampment and memorial in honor Corey Ruiz, in a violent escalation. Candles, flowers, artwork, and photos were all trampled over and destroyed. Community members took to the streets to protest. Ruiz was killed by police in Madison, WI on July 22, and protests have continued for weeks since.
