On Tuesday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez traveled to Carabobo state to inspect the Planta Centro and Termocarabobo thermoelectric plants, which were affected by the June earthquakes.

She monitored efforts to restore the installed capacity of the infrastructure and strengthen the stability of the National Electric System (SEN) in the country’s central-western region. To that end, her administration is carrying out engineering work that includes:
-. Restoration of Unit VI: This project is designed to contribute an additional 600 megawatts to the SEN through technical upgrades, the replacement of critical components and the rehabilitation of turbines.
-. Comprehensive maintenance of the thermoelectric complex: Engineers are carrying out upgrading work on boilers, turbogenerators, turbine halls and distribution systems to reorganize operational areas and replace obsolete technology.
-. Civil infrastructure: Professionals are repairing the seawater canal that supplies the condensation cooling system, optimizing administrative areas and upgrading comprehensive service centers.
-. Co-management and private investment: Authorities are conducting evaluations to incorporate mixed-investment schemes with private business owners aimed at the operation and sustainability of the thermoelectric complex.
On Tuesday, Rodriguez also supervised the recovery of homes affected by the earthquakes in the Los Bloques de Moron, in Juan Jose Mora municipality.
The community is home to 236 families living in five buildings, none of which sustained severe structural damage as a result of the earthquakes, except for one structural support wall in a building.
The Venezuelan Acting President met with those families to ensure they receive comprehensive assistance from the various institutions providing support to people affected by the June earthquakes.
