“We want nothing to do with RIMPAC.” The US-led RIMPAC war drills ran this year from July 25 to July 31 in Hawaii. Thirty-one nations participated in the 2026 exercises, more than half of which are NATO members or partner states, bringing in approximately 40 surface ships, 5 submarines, more than 200 aircraft, and more than 30,000 personnel to the islands. Anti-war activists spoke to BT in Hawaii about their demands that the US Navy‘s Indo-Pacific Command permanently cancel RIMPAC exercises on the islands. They say the annual international maritime war games – the largest in the world – poison the environment and amount to actual violence against the land and marine life around Hawaii. 🎥 @karaokecomputer
