ACTIVISTS dressed as firefighters while others poured a black liquid resembling oil over their heads during a protest outside Shell’s global headquarters yesterday.

They carried placards reading: “Shell fuels wildfires” and “Stop pouring oil on the flames” ahead of the oil giant’s quarterly profit announcement today.

The protest took place as more than 300,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes by wildfires across Spain and France, with blazes also hitting Scotland, Italy and Portugal amid record-breaking heatwaves in Europe.
