Kremlin says Ukrainian attacks on rear areas underscore need to complete military campaign.
On Tuesday, Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the Center military group liberated the settlement of Krasni Kut, located in the Donetsk region 22 kilometers southwest of Kramatorsk.

Two weeks ago, the chief of the Russian army’s General Staff specified that the South group had entered the settlement of Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, where they are fighting against its defenders in an attempt to advance toward Druzhkivka, considered the gateway to Kramatorsk from the south.
Thus, Krasni Kut, at the intersection of the Gruzskaya and Kasionniy Torets rivers, becomes one more rung on the path toward Kramatorsk. Currently, even as Kiev has increased its airstrikes against Russia with drones and missiles, Russian troops continue to advance slowly on the ground.
“We will achieve our goals and together we will do everything for victory, for Russia,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday, when he appeared before deputies gathered at the Kremlin.

On Tuesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Ukrainian terrorist actions against the Russian rear are forcing his country to bring the military campaign to a successful conclusion.
“The geography of the terrorist activities of the Kiev regime is expanding, and this once again confirms the growing need to bring the special military operation to a successful conclusion,” he said.
The Ukrainian threat “must be suppressed and completely annihilated,” Peskov said, asserting that Ukraine had already attacked Germany by sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipelines, and Kazakhstan after striking facilities of the KTK oil pipeline in the Black Sea.
Previously, the Kremlin spokesman condemned the Ukrainian attack on Sunday in the Caspian Sea against an Iranian merchant ship that was allegedly carrying weaponry to Russia. “Those actions are aggressive… In other times, that would have been a casus belli,” Peskov said.
