Broadcaster launches teleSUR+ and unveils multimedia projects honoring earthquake survivors, rescuers and solidarity efforts.
teleSUR marked its 21st anniversary on Thursday by launching teleSUR+, a collaborative digital platform designed to strengthen newsroom coordination and content sharing across its media network, while unveiling a series of multimedia projects honoring the victims of Venezuela’s earthquakes and those involved in rescue and recovery efforts.

The broadcaster said teleSUR+ is more than a digital archive, describing it as a collaborative editorial ecosystem that enables journalists, correspondents and editors to work in an integrated newsroom. The platform allows news teams to collaborate in real time, share editorial standards and distribute content through an open, organized workflow tailored to the demands of modern journalism.
To mark the anniversary, teleSUR also released the original song and music video Venezuela Rises, paying tribute to those affected by the earthquakes and to the volunteers who continue supporting recovery efforts. The production features music by Jesús “Paicosa” Guzmán and Noel Márquez, with musical arrangement, production and direction by Manuel Barrios, a script by Reinaldo Mijares, and special appearances by Jorge Beens and Tsunami, the rescue dog.

On July 24, 2005, teleSUR began broadcasting with the conviction that ethical journalism is possible, upholding truth as its guiding principle and the interests of the people as its guiding force. Twenty-one years later, that commitment remains unwavering and is strengthened by the launch of teleSUR+, a collaborative editorial ecosystem designed to enable journalists, correspondents, and editors to work in an integrated manner, share criteria, and distribute content according to the multimedia platform’s standards.
As part of the commemoration, teleSUR produced the music video “Venezuela Rises,” a tribute to the victims of the June 24 earthquakes and the volunteers who participated in the rescue efforts, as well as the report “Venezuela: Epicenter of Solidarity,” which includes testimonies from six survivors rescued from the rubble. The multimedia company’s publishing arm, created a year ago, also distributes the book “Tsunami, the rescue dog”, a coloring book aimed at children and people affected by the double earthquake.
The broadcaster also premiered the documentary Venezuela: Epicenter of Solidarity, highlighting the response of the country, its people and its government following the earthquakes. The film includes testimonies from six survivors who were trapped beneath collapsed structures, recounting their experiences during the disaster, the rescue operations and the nationwide mobilization that followed.
As part of the anniversary programming, teleSUR has also produced vertical-format content for digital platforms and YouTube specials examining the first four weeks after the earthquakes, reinforcing its commitment to multi-platform journalism that reaches diverse audiences through in-depth, human-centered storytelling.
The anniversary coincides with the first year of Editorial teleSUR, which is commemorating the occasion with the distribution of Tsunami, the Rescue Dog, a coloring book intended to support children and others affected by the twin earthquakes. The publication tells the story of a dog that overcame abuse and abandonment before being adopted and trained for rescue work, ultimately taking part in multiple rescue missions, including the most recent operations in Venezuela.
