Mexico City. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that it exercised its power to take over the case of Oaxacan journalist Francisco Alejandro Leyva Aguilar.
“Based on what the Law establishes, the FGR, through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Human Rights (FEMDH), will carry out the corresponding investigations to clarify the case and find those responsible” for the journalist’s murder. Leyva Aguilar was deprived of his life yesterday morning while having breakfast at a food establishment near his home, in the municipality of San Pablo Etla. The journalist, 58, served as director of the Oaxacan Radio and Television Corporation (CORTV) during the Alejandro Murat Hinojosa administration and was currently one of the most critical journalists of the government of Morena member Salomón Jara Cruz.
