Don’t worry: hedge fund managers have our best interests at heart. That was the message from Salma Shah, a former special advisor under the previous Conservative government, on Good Morning Britain this week. Shah was part of a discussion about whether it’s okay for bankers to have more say than the public in who gets picked for Andy Burnham’s cabinet. She rebuffed concerns that bankers had caused the 2008 global financial crash, and said people in the city are ”trying to do the right thing”.
