Pakistan is shaken by protests in Kashmir. Since the end of 2025, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir has witnessed popular mobilizations under the banner of the Joint Action Awami Committee (JAAC). These protests put the Pakistani state to task against its broken promises of liberating Kashmir from Indian occupation, while intensifying the exploitation of the part of Kashmir it controls.
Pakistan justifies its occupation over Kashmir on the basis of a two-nation theory, which proposes that Hindus and Muslims are two separate singular nations, never mind the centuries of coexistence between them. The bourgeoisie of Pakistan have pretended to be allies of Kashmir, while stealing the wealth of Kashmir’s water resources, denying them representation, and keeping them in poverty, while military elites, bureaucrats, politicians and businessmen grow rich off Kashmir’s resources.
The lie was challenged in 2025, and again today in June 2026 when the people of Kashmir came out in the tens of thousands for the long march to Muzaffarabad. In the face of these challenges, the Pakistani state has resorted to mass arrests and massacres. On the 7th of June, the Pakistani state responded with a bloody massacre of Kashmiris, forever burying any notion of friendship that there may have been. The people remained steadfast and continued their plan for the long march. Yet, repression remains a very real threat.
On the 5th of July, the mobilizations of Kashmir found resonance across the world, particularly in the Kashmiri diaspora of the UK who came out for the largest solidarity protest in recent times, in support of their brethren in POK. Despite its importance, the world does not know of the struggles of the Kashmiri people against Pakistan.

This webinar will help shed light on the issues at the heart of the struggle of the Kashmiri people, how they shape the ongoing struggle in India and in Pakistan.

Speakers from Mehnatkash Tehreek, Labour Quami Movement Pakistan, and Mazdoor Inquilab.

This event will have live translation for English and Spanish.
