The New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN) has strongly condemned the desecration of the Soviet War Cemetery in Leusden, where around 150 graves and the memorial monument were defaced with fascist graffiti.
In a statement, the NCPN denounced the attack as a despicable act, noting that the graves and monument were covered with “various abhorrent fascist slogans.”
The Party stressed that the vandalism is not an isolated incident but part of a broader rise in fascist activity, fueled by years of anti-communism and anti-Soviet propaganda promoted by the country’s bourgeois political parties and mainstream media.
“The desecration of the graves and memorials of the heroes of the Red Army, who liberated Europe from fascism, can in no way diminish their sacrifice,” the NCPN stated.
The Party emphasized that the men and women of the Red Army who gave their lives in the struggle against Nazism remain a lasting source of inspiration for all those fighting against fascism, which, it underlined, is a product of the capitalist system.
