“The entire city should be shutting down in the wake of this tragedy.” Houston community leaders held a press conference on Friday calling on the city to shut down on Sunday and join the mass protest for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, the 52-year-old immigrant killed by ICE earlier this month. Community members are demanding the release of the names of Araujo’s killers, along with their prosecutions. Houston joins over 70 cities this weekend calling demonstrations in response to the deaths of Araujo and Johan Sebastain Guerrero at the hands of ICE.
