LEAKED AUDIO: Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth told employees that he would like to sue workers who leak, saying on a weekly meeting: “We fine and fire leakers all the time. We tend not to sue those people, but I’d like to…” When Meta began using employee data to train AI without worker consent, over 1,800 Meta workers signed a petition asking to end the Model Capability Initiative (MCI). Bosworth claims these people “made the entire company worse.” Because of the workers collective action and an internal data breach where private data was exposed, Meta management ended the nonconsensual MCI surveillance program. Now the company’s CTO is lashing out against workers, and appears to be equating worker organizing to leaking, even hinting at threatening workers for their protected organizing.
