Authorities are pushing for recovery after earthquakes with debris removal and reconstruction efforts.

In the early hours of Thursday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez conducted a field inspection to assess progress on the “Dignified and Safe Clearance Plan,” which is focused on managing the aftermath of the June 24 earthquakes.

“I came to support those working on the recovery of La Guaira in the Caraballeda area. Public- and private-sector workers, Civil Protection, and our Bolivarian National Armed Forces are working tirelessly throughout this painful process,” she said.

“Every step forward represents firm progress toward the recovery of La Guaira. With unity and commitment, Venezuela will rise again,” Rodriguez stressed.

The Venezuelan acting president verified the removal of debris from key roadways and the preparation of 11 collection centers intended to mitigate environmental risks.

Currently, debris removal operations are being carried out under protocols designed to allow for the eventual reuse of materials during the infrastructure reconstruction phase.

For this purpose, the Environment Ministry is working with technicians from the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) system, a rapid-response team managed by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

During the tour of the disaster area, Rodriguez was accompanied by Public Works Minister Juan Jose Ramirez, Defense Minister Gustavo Gonzalez Lopez, and Juan Ernesto Sulbaran Quintero, chief of the Emergency General Staff.

On Wednesday, Venezuelan authorities began reconstruction and housing recovery work in Miranda state under the “Venezuela Rises Again” plan, which includes repairs to masonry, windows, plaster finishes and minor structural elements.

Miranda Gov. Elio Serrano said the work will continue without interruption, with the goal of allowing affected families to return to their homes within six to eight weeks.

In the state, reconstruction work began on 102 properties in the Mazzilli building in the Tacarigua parish, including 60 apartments and 42 commercial units. Community assistance efforts will extend to the municipalities of Chacao, Brion, Paz Castillo, Plaza, Zamora, Tomas Lander, Pedro Gual and Simon Bolivar.
