
Brazilian Air Force plane landed in Santiago de Cuba on Wednesday with 30 tons of powdered milk destined for children, as part of a 48-ton donation from Brazil amid the tightening U.S. blockade.
Ambassador Christian Vargas officially delivered the full 48-ton donation to Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Trade Minister Óscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, with the ceremony attended by the World Food Programme, Brazil’s Landless Workers’ Movement, and Cuban institutional executives.

Santiago Dairy Company director Eduardo Griñán Caballero thanked the Brazilian people and Government during the reception of the first shipment, describing the gesture as an expression of unconditional solidarity from the South American nation.
President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his most profound gratitude to President Lula da Silva and the Brazilian people on social media, stating the donation would be destined above all for children in the eastern provinces.
Lula da Silva has repeatedly rejected Washington’s unilateral blockade against Cuba and has highlighted its impact on the Cuban population.
