More than 30,000 personnel from various security agencies remain deployed in the states that suffered the greatest damage following the earthquakes that struck the country’s central-western and north-central regions three weeks ago.
So far, authorities have rescued 6,464 people from the rubble and other dangerous areas. Meanwhile, the social protection deployment has provided comprehensive assistance to approximately 128,000 families who were displaced or are in vulnerable conditions.
International rescue teams are actively participating in the search and rescue operations, contributing 2,471 specialized technical personnel to reinforce national capabilities.
To provide an immediate response to the housing emergency, the Venezuelan government continues to operate an assistance plan that provides around-the-clock support. To date, 107 temporary shelters have been established nationwide.
More than 20,000 people who lost their homes or remain at risk are receiving continuous assistance at these shelters, while infrastructure teams continue conducting technical assessments of the damage.
Venezuelan authorities reaffirmed that security operations and the distribution of essential supplies will continue uninterrupted until the affected communities are fully stabilized.
