Strikes targeted sites near the Strait of Hormuz as Iran responded with missile and drone attacks.

On Wednesday, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said U.S. attacks have killed at least 30 civilians in recent days.

“Southern Iran is the beating heart of this land. It is the life of Iran,” she said, referring to the country’s cities that have been targeted by U.S. attacks since last week.

The Iranian Army’s Ground Forces reported the deaths of seven service members in a U.S. attack on a military barracks in Bampur, in Sistan and Baluchistan province.

Early Wednesday, the United States launched 13 missiles at the dormitory and housing facilities of a base, as well as the guest residence and guard posts at the barracks, in an attack that also left several people injured.

The Iranian Army said the attack was intended “to cause the greatest possible number of casualties” and asserted that “revenge” for this “crime” is “certain and imminent.”

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) launched a new offensive against dozens of Iranian targets, including missile and drone facilities, naval capabilities and coastal defense systems located near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran responded to the offensives with new missile and drone launches against U.S. bases and targets in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
