Since finishing up the edits on my book Hyperscale (which you can preorder now!), I’ve had a lot more time to read for pleasure — and it’s been so wonderful. I’ve become particularly taken with the fiction of Emily St. John Mandel, a fellow Canadian. I really enjoyed Station Eleven when I read it some years ago, but more recently I’ve read Sea of Tranquility and have now moved on to The Glass Hotel.
There’s still some tech-related non-fiction in there, including most recently Thomas Dekeyser’s Techno-Negative, but I’m looking forward to a summer of reading even more fiction. I’m not even sure what fiction that will be yet, but I’ve found it to be such a palate-cleanser after an intense year of work on a non-fiction book. I hope you’re getting some time to read these days too!
Now, onto this quarter’s reading list. The coming months are packed with books I’m quite intrigued by, not just my own. You’ll find some of them on this list, and more on the one for next quarter. Happy reading!
