“We are going to build the houses very quickly, in order to care for the people who are in the temporary camps”, emphasized the Acting President.
Preventive Training Urged
The Acting President also urged to strengthen preventive education across schools, families and communities, reminding citizens that Venezuela is a historically seismic country structurally crossed by active geological faults. To address these natural vulnerabilities, she insisted on establishing solid educational frameworks, meanwhile she called citizens to implement comprehensive preventive training within public schools, family environments and local community structures to minimize risks during future events.
According to official scientific reports, the seismic activity has remained highly persistent across the national territory. Since the initial major earthquakes occurred on June 24, national monitoring institutions have recorded a total of 1,171 aftershocks, generating continuous alerts.
Regional Solidarity Received
In the context of the ongoing emergency response, Acting President Delcy Rodriguez reported a key diplomatic interaction aimed at securing international support: a productive telephone conversation with the Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
During the formal diplomatic call, the head of State expressed deep regional solidarity with the Venezuelan families devastated by the disasters. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva conveyed his deep concerns regarding those citizens who lost family members and had their homes destroyed.
“This morning I had a call with President Lula, whom I always thank. He is very attentive to the families who lost loved ones. Very attentive to the families who lost their homes. In general, he is very attentive and has expressed his solidarity”, she shared.
In this sense, the Venezuelan Acting President extended her profound gratitude to other Governments worldwide that have actively provided material, humanitarian and diplomatic aid to Venezuela during this challenging phase of reconstruction and recovery.
