
More than 1,300 workers remain deployed as recovery operations continue across over 500 active sites.
More than 1,300 machine operators and work crews remain deployed across Venezuela’s La Guaira state as reconstruction continues following the two earthquakes that struck on June 24.

Recovery operations extend beyond heavy equipment and construction work. At the Ministry of Public Works’ base camp, logistics teams prepare and distribute more than 1,000 meals each day to workers assigned to damaged areas across the state.
Luz Marina, assistant to the director of the Ministry of Public Works, called on more people to support the ongoing reconstruction effort.

“Whether it is like all of us here, as workers contributing our grain of sand for all the colleagues who are out there working with the machinery.”
She said many workers have continued their duties despite experiencing personal losses during the earthquakes.
“Even though they have suffered the loss of family members and the loss of their homes, they have continued contributing through their work every day, from Monday to Monday.”
Among those supporting the operation is cook Abigail, who lost 11 members of her family in the earthquakes and continues preparing meals for reconstruction crews.
“Life goes on; we must move forward with those of us who remain.”
Nazaret Vargas, a warehouse coordinator responsible for meal distribution and other logistical tasks at the Ministry of Public Works’ base camp in La Guaira, said the facility prepares 1,000 lunches or more each day to sustain personnel deployed throughout the reconstruction effort.
Authorities reported that more than 500 work sites remain active across La Guaira, where crews continue daily operations to rebuild structures that collapsed during the June 24 earthquakes.
