Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent early Tuesday morning as the 35-year Houston resident was on his way to pick up his construction crew for work. DHS claims Araujo, who was born in Mexico and had no criminal record, attempted to weaponize his van against federal agents, an allegation his family vehemently rejects. No video of the shooting has been released. More than a thousand people marched in Houston Wednesday to demand a full and transparent independent investigation into Araujo’s killing and compensation for his family, and for an end to ICE ambush attacks on the city.
