Acting president of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez announced Wednesday she has sent a letter to the King Charles III, demanding the release of gold reserves frozen in the Bank of England. Rodríguez argued the funds were needed for recovery after the June 24 earthquakes. “That gold belongs to our people. And that gold must be used to address the terrible, tragic consequences of this double earthquake.”
