Sinn Féin approves F-35 program factory extension

In a move that reveals the party’s pro-Palestine sentiment to be entirely hollow, Sinn Féin have allowed an extension to a north of Ireland factory producing components for F-35 warplanes. So-called ‘Israel’ has used the jets extensively to murder civilians in its genocidal assault on Gaza.

The factory in question is Moyola Precision Engineering in Castledawson, a village within Mid Ulster District Council (MUDC) boundaries. On 7 July, the council’s 16-member planning committee shamefully voted to permit the enlargement of the illegal factory.

As might be expected by the region’s leading supporter of genocide, all five Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) councillors backed the planning application. Nothing better is expected of these clowns. A combined total of three SDLP and Independents voted against. There are conflicting reports about the single Ulster Unionist Party councillor’s vote. It was therefore the disgraceful abstention of seven Sinn Féin councillors that allowed the measure to pass.

Sinn Féin routinely backs ‘Israel’

The names of those who have enabled the continued mass murder of children are Gavin Bell, Eimear Carney, Sean Clarke, Seán McPeake, Donal McPeake, Donna Mullin and Deirdre Varsani. Apparently they like to receive friendly emails giving feedback on their decisions.

Sinn Féin have already faced criticism when it comes to helping ‘Israel’ out with F-35 death machine. Economy minister Caoimhe Archibald previously made a feeble attempt to cover up government “regional development agency” Invest NI’s funding of genocide.

In October 2025, she produced a report that whitewashed the likes of Moyola receiving state backing for their construction of the weapons that maim and kill Palestinians. The sordid attempt to fool voters was effortlessly dismantled by campaign group Act Now, authors of an excellent report on F-35 component production in the Six Counties (the decolonial term for the north of Ireland). Sinn Féin are happy to talk a good game when it comes to criticising the Zionist terror regime, but far less willing to take material steps to stop its atrocities in West Asia.

Speaking in the aftermath of the council’s criminal failure, Mid Ulster Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (MUIPSC) said:

In a monstrous move, Sinn Féin last night refused to object to an extension to F-35 program factory Moyola Precision Engineering.

It was noted that over 150 formal objections were lodged against the factory. Though the Mid Ulster IPSC were not given a chance to speak.

MUIPSC went on to cite a previous extension to the factory which the council also permitted last year. On that occasion, the activists justifiably bemoaned the lack of notification from supposedly sympathetic council members, saying:

The fact that MUDC has approved an extension to this complicit factory, with the Planning Committee staying completely silent, is a stain on this Mid Ulster.

No alarm or awareness was raised by any self-proclaimed ‘pro-Palestine’ councillors of this development. The MUIPSC is raising questions as to how the vote went, and why the vocal community and campaigners weren’t informed.

Six Counties’ political class enabling destruction at home and abroad

No councillors voted against the extension on that occasion. At least now councillors weren’t able to sneak the extension through on the sly, with MUIPSC noting “a significant shift” as a result of uproar prior to the vote.

MUIPSC concluded by highlighting the extent to which the north of Ireland’s wretched political class permits corporations to plunder, pollute and murder, both here and abroad.

They cited the “millions of pounds in rates relief” granted to corporations, including those on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) list. Wealthy multinationals let off the hook on paying their way, while ordinary people suffer under a cost of living crisis partly driven by the wars fought with death dealers like the F-35.

They went on to highlight the dire state of Lough Neagh, adjacent to Castledawson. It is filled with the torrent of shit pumped out by grotesque industrial-scale torture chambers used to murder chickens en masse. Stormont has allowed these abominations to wreck the environment through hopelessly lax regulation.

Now, worst of all, we have Sinn Féin councillors willing to LARP as Palestine supporters, only to enable the continued production of hideous weapons used to carry out a holocaust in Gaza.
