CENTCOM’s announcement comes after Trump’s new threats against Iran.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that more than 20 U.S. warships are patrolling waters throughout the Middle East.

Described as a measure to “promote regional security and stability,” the U.S. military presence followed President Donald Trump’s threats of a possible new attack against Iran overnight.

In the post, which was accompanied by images of the deployment, CENTCOM recalled that warships and naval aircraft transited the Arabian Sea in close formation last month, when they “demonstrated unmatched U.S. military strength and firepower.”

Earlier, speaking from the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump threatened Iran and declared the ceasefire framework agreement signed on June 17 to be over.

Trump’s Remarks on Iran:

When asked if the ceasefire was over, MOU was over. Trump said that he thinks that the ceasefire deal is over. Because the Iranians are scum. That the Iranian people are sick led by sick people. He also said that they are violent vicious people.

On Tuesday night, the U.S. military attacked Kharg Island, a key hub for Iran’s crude oil exports, according to Trump, who also said U.S. forces destroyed 28 Iranian boats and an Iranian radar installation that had been rebuilt to 60%.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth said the United States struck underground facilities where Iran stored drones or missiles, coastal defense positions, radar sites, surveillance centers and “any facility used to harass maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Before the new U.S. strikes, Trump revoked authorization for the sale of Iranian oil on international markets, a measure intended to mitigate the global consequences of the war that the United States and Israel began against Iran on Feb. 28.
