U.S. President Donald Trump declared the framework ceasefire agreement with Iran “over” on Wednesday, calling Iran “garbage,” “sick,” and “a bunch of liars” and stating that negotiating with Tehran is wasting time.

The remarks were made during a press conference alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the second day of the Alliance leaders’ summit in Ankara.

Trump said he does not want to negotiate with Iran because they are “sick people, led by sick, vicious, violent people.” He claimes the Islamic Revolution would use a nuclear weapon if they had one. “For my part, negotiating with them is just wasting time.

This outcome followed U.S. strikes on Iran, with Tehran retaliating by bombing U.S. bases in several Persian Gulf countries. Before those attacks, the U.S. revoked authorization for Iranian oil sales in international markets in response to the ship aggressions.

Washington and Tel Aviv started a war of aggression against Iran in late February, killing former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several Iranian civilians, including children. The conflict has since disrupted oil markets worldwide
