Havana, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Foreign Ministry congratulated the people and government of Cape Verde on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of its independence.

“Cuba reaffirms its commitment to strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between our countries,” the Foreign Ministry stated on the social network X.

Cape Verde proclaimed its independence on July 5, 1975, at Varzea Stadium, following five centuries of Portuguese colonialism.

With a population of over 500,000, it is today one of the most stable and developed African nations.
