“Let us join Acting President Delcy Rodriguez’s call for national unity for the rebirth of Venezuela. We stand with the families who are suffering today with all our hearts. Together we will move forward; everyone is needed,” he said through his Telegram account.

He also expressed his solidarity with the victims of the natural disaster, which has left more than 3,300 people dead, 16,400 injured and tens of thousands displaced, mainly in the states of La Guaira, Caracas and Yaracuy.

Rodriguez’s statement aligns with the comprehensive assistance agenda being carried out by the Bolivarian government in vulnerable areas, where rescue teams, health care personnel and volunteers continue humanitarian assistance efforts and structural damage assessments.

On Sunday, Venezuelans commemorated the 215th anniversary of their country’s independence. During a ceremony held at Fort Tiuna in Caracas, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez announced the creation of a military unit to respond to emergencies and called for unity among Venezuelans.

“With deep patriotic sentiment and together with the new officers of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, we commemorate the signing of the Act of our Independence. Two hundred fifteen years ago, the Venezuelan people decided that Venezuela would be free, and today it is our responsibility to demonstrate that we also know how to rise together in the face of adversity,” she said.

“My call is to every man and woman who loves this land to build a new nation, inspired by the spirit of our Liberator Simon Bolivar: a united, supportive, deeply humane Venezuela committed to its people.”

“Let us embrace hope and make this moment the beginning of a stronger Republic, where every Venezuelan man and woman finds reasons to believe, serve and build the future from independence,” Rodriguez stressed.
