The patriotic ceremony formally began in the early hours of the morning with the traditional hoisting of the national flag, extolling the sovereign roots of the Republic.
The civic-military event brought together a significant contingent of 15 General Officers, 50 Senior Officers, 117 Junior Officers, as well as 468 cadets from the different military training institutes.
Similarly, the protocol deployment had the active participation of 77 professional troops, 25 enlisted troops and 100 personnel belonging to the Bolivarian Militia, a body that expresses the civic-military union.
This historic anniversary simultaneously commemorates the declaration of emancipation and the Day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, articulating the origin of the State with its defense doctrine.
The security forces maintained their operational organization in parallel to the humanitarian tasks carried out by the State in the sectors affected by the recent seismic event on June 24.
The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, is leading the joint graduation ceremony of 1,215 new officers from the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela this July 5.
The ceremony, held in the Patio de Honor de las Academias in Fuerte Tiuna, Caracas, is part of the commemoration of the 215th Anniversary of the Signing of the Act of Independence of the South American nation.
The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, and congressman Diosdado Cabello attended the ceremony. The graduates received the ranks of Lieutenant and Ensign in the categories of command, technical, and troop officers.
During the activity of maximum military protocol, the 1,215 patriots swore before God, the Liberator Simón Bolívar, the tricolor flag, the people, and their families, to comply with the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as well as with military laws and regulations.
The oath included the commitment not to rest their arms or souls to work tirelessly in the materialization of a sovereign, just, and supportive Venezuela, aimed at leaving the people a world of social justice and absolute happiness, willing to lose their lives if necessary.
Rodríguez ordered the creation of a new military unit to address the emergency in the face of disasters, in the face of criticism for the lack of response from the Venezuelan armed forces after the double earthquake on June 24.
“I have given the order to the Ministry of Defense to create a special emergency task unit to address the emergency in the face of disasters of this nature, which will be named Grand Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre,” announced the interim president in the commemoration of the 150 years of independence of the country.
