As part of the commemoration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), that country’s ambassador to Mexico, Chen Daojiang, highlighted this Friday the solidity of the Asian economy at the start of its fifteenth Five-Year Plan (2026) and reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to deepening political, cultural, and infrastructure cooperation with Mexico.

In a discussion held at the Chinese embassy’s headquarters, with representatives of Morena, politicians, academics, and special guests, the diplomat shared the guidelines set by the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and the nation’s president, Xi Jinping. He stressed that, over more than a century, the party has managed to fundamentally transform the destiny of its population, opening what he called “the correct path toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”

During his remarks, Chen Daojiang emphasized the historic leap of the political organization, which went from being a movement with just over 50 militants in 1921 to becoming the largest governing party in the world, with a membership exceeding 100 million members and under whose responsibility lies the leadership of a country of more than 1.4 billion inhabitants.

The ambassador offered macroeconomic figures illustrating the dynamism of the Asian power at the start of 2026, a period that coincides with the launch of its fifteenth Five-Year Plan. “The Chinese economy maintains a solid growth momentum,” Chen affirmed, detailing that during the first quarter GDP reached approximately $4.81 trillion, representing year-on-year growth of 5 percent. Likewise, he attributed this vigor to the acceleration of “new quality productive forces” and to technological innovation, an area in which an 83.4 percent year-on-year increase in exports of integrated circuits during the first five months of the year stands out.

On the bilateral front, Chen Daojiang stressed that the fruits of the common agenda between China and Mexico are already tangible for both peoples during the celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In this regard, the diplomat emphasized his country’s contribution to the modernization of public transportation systems on Mexican territory: “New light rail trains developed by the Chinese company are already providing service between Mexican cities, speeding up the movement of fans and contributing, with the quality of Chinese manufacturing, to the successful organization of this tournament.”

The head of the diplomatic mission reaffirmed his country’s will to strengthen multilateralism, commercial openness, and party-to-party exchanges with Mexico’s various political forces in order to share experiences on matters of global governance.

Recalling the recent displays of cooperation in the face of climate contingencies and natural disasters in the region, such as the earthquakes in Venezuela, Chen concluded that “these gestures reflect the friendship and solidarity that unite China and the Latin American countries,” in a permanent effort to build a community of shared future based on common prosperity.
