Following the devastating magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes, specialized Venezuela’s engineering teams are deployed this Friday across Caracas to certify structural safety, bringing relief to residents in heavily affected urban parishes.

Venezuelan government authorities and specialized civil engineers deployed an intensive structural review operation across several housing complexes in the capital city of Caracas, inspecting every level from the deep basements to the upper floors.

The specialized engineers directly oriented the anxious local residents regarding the physical nature of the newly visible wall cracks. The technical experts officially ruled out any grave structural failures, assuring families that there was no immediate danger to their homes.

These vital evaluations also reached the historic center of Caracas, specifically targeting the Curry Building, a structure where approximately 60 families live. Capital municipal councilors and state civil engineers thoroughly examined the main water pipelines and the foundational bases of this housing complex.

The technical commission concluded that the structural damages reported by the residents were strictly limited to minor aesthetic cracks. These superficial fissures do not compromise the overall building safety or the structural stability of the historic residential property.

Humanitarian Disaster Response

Government technical commissions completed the meticulous physical inspection of 20 residential buildings situated in the vulnerable parishes of El Recreo and Altagracia. Local inhabitants highlighted the deep emotional relief generated by these official diagnostics, which certified their homes as safe.

The devastating twin earthquakes generated immense destructive power, heavily impacting various urban zones of Caracas and the northern state of La Guaira. Due to the catastrophic level of structural collapse, the federal government officially declared La Guaira as a major disaster zone.

Heavy infrastructure damage was also registered in the central states of Aragua and Carabobo, among other national territories. According to the latest official state report, the tragic seismic events have caused 2,595 deaths and left 12,666 people injured.

Acting President Delcy Rodríguez announced that the Venezuelan state immediately activated emergency protocols, deploying 4,000 civil and military officials. This rescue force rapidly increased to 14,000 responders the following day to handle the widespread emergency.

Currently, the active deployment exceeds 19,000 emergency personnel concentrated in the devastated state of La Guaira. These state forces are executing crucial search and rescue missions, clearing heavy debris, and providing food, medical aid, and shelter to affected families.
