The ‘Board of Deputies‘ (BOD) is an Israel lobby group that describes its mission to “advance Israel’s security, welfare and standing”. And it has now boasted that it has received £1.5m in lottery cash to prevent anti-genocide and pro-Palestinian speech in the NHS.

Israel lobby group

The BOD’s announcement.

Of course, it hasn’t been quite that naked in its description. Instead, it claimed its ‘health project’ is to:

address structural antisemitism and inequalities in the health sector which impact the Jewish community.

Agenda

However, the real agenda is exposed when the announcement refers to the farcical ‘rapid review‘ of NHS antisemitism by Tory-made peer ‘Lord’ Mann. Mann is a caricature ‘friend of genocide’ villain, who has previously tried to destroy both the Canary and Skwawkbox while inciting hate toward immigrants and Roma Travellers. His ‘review’ was always a barely disguised attempt to ban NHS staff from opposing genocide. Naturally, the Starmer regime has “accept[ed its] recommendations in full”.

The core of the review is the imposition of the unfit-for-purpose ‘IHRA’ so-called definition of antisemitism on the NHS and its staff. The ‘definition’ has been constructed to suppress free speech on Israel’s crimes and has now been rejected by the British Medical Association, the doctors’ union. Even its author condemns it as unfit.

Journalist Ismail Syed urged lottery gamblers to find other amusements rather than help fund the genocide lobby:

British public never thought their lottery card would end up bankrolling one of the most prominent pro-Israel groups in the country.
Gamble responsibly.

And all this without actually addressing the healthcare needs of Jewish communities in any meaningful way.
