The solidarity initiative, called “Venezuela Is Not Alone!” (¡Venezuela no esta sola!), seeks to efficiently coordinate two basic forms of assistance.
First, individuals from anywhere in the world can transfer money directly to the official account of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), a multilateral institution headquartered in Caracas.
Another support option, suitable for institutional actors, is sending aircraft carrying donations to Caracas. To do so, they must request flight authorization from the Venezuelan authorities, declaring the aircraft, its route, who is traveling and what donations it is carrying.
Under either option, Venezuelan diplomacy will handle all the logistics required to ensure the donations reach their final beneficiaries.
“Venezuela Is Not Alone! You can join this solidarity initiative and accompany us through these difficult times,” Foreign Minister Gil stressed.
