
Supporters at the Mexico-Ecuador match dedicated chants to Venezuelans affected by the recent earthquakes.
Fans attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup match between Mexico and Ecuador gathered on Tuesday to express solidarity with the people of Venezuela as the country continues to face the aftermath of the earthquakes that struck last week.

Before kickoff at the Estadio Azteca, thousands of supporters chanted, “You are not alone!”, sending a message of support to Venezuelans affected by the disaster.
The chants grew louder across the stadium as fans continued, “Let it be heard loud, let it be heard far away, all the way to Venezuela.”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Mikel Arriola, commissioner of the Mexican Football Federation, joined the tribute before the match began.
Mexico defeated Ecuador 2-0, with naturalized striker Julián Quiñones scoring in the 22nd minute and Raúl Jiménez adding a second goal in the 31st.
According to official figures, the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24, have left 1,943 people dead, 10,571 injured and 15,866 displaced.
