After last week’s powerful back-to-back earthquakes, Venezuela’s emergency services have rushed to rescue survivors, while popular movements have organized relief efforts for thousands of displaced families. Rescue teams from countries like Cuba, Mexico, and China have also joined search-and-recovery efforts. BT spoke to some of the volunteers coordinating the relief efforts in Caracas and La Guaira State, the latter of which was hit hardest by the earthquakes. As of June 28, over 1,500 people have been killed and over 3,000 injured.
