Türkiye ended its FIFA World Cup campaign with a 3-2 victory over hosts the United States in the final Group D match at Los Angeles Stadium. Although the hosts had already secured qualification for the knockout stage, the win allowed Türkiye to conclude its participation in the tournament with three points.

The United States opened the scoring early after Berhalter delivered a cross that found Trusty inside the penalty area. Trusty controlled the ball before finishing to give Mauricio Pochettino’s side the lead.

Türkiye responded before the 10-minute mark. Arda Güler converted Yilmaz’s pass to score his country’s first goal of the World Cup, restoring parity. Before halftime, the visitors completed the comeback through Yilmaz, who finished after receiving an assist from Kokcu following another well-worked team move.

The hosts drew level shortly after the restart when Berhalter collected a rebound outside the box and beat goalkeeper Cakir with a powerful strike.

Both teams created chances to claim the victory, but Türkiye found the decisive goal in the closing stages. Ayhan scored to seal a 3-2 win, allowing Vincenzo Montella’s side to end its World Cup campaign on a winning note.

Despite the defeat, the United States advanced to the Round of 32 and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, July 1, at San Francisco Bay Stadium. The hosts also finished the group stage with eight goals, setting a national record for the most goals scored in a World Cup first-round campaign.
