
Acting President Delcy Rodriguez coordinates this Thursday immediate rescue operations and international assistance in La Guaira, confirming the arrival of international aid to accelerate search and rescue operations following earthquakes in Venezuela.
The Venezuela’s Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, led a working meeting with the Special General Staff on June 25 to coordinate immediate response actions in La Guaira state.
This coastal region represents the territory most affected by the seismic events recorded on Wednesday, June 24.

During her deployment in Macuto, Rodriguez supervised the active search and rescue operations executed by national security and emergency agencies. The Acting President toured multiple damaged sectors of the coastal state to evaluate rescue efforts and directly support families affected by the double earthquake.

Acting President Rodriguez expressed solidarity with the population, emphasizing that the primary focus remains finding survivors trapped under collapsed structures, meanwhile she confirmed that specialized teams are working continuously in high-risk zones where buildings and concrete infrastructure collapsed following the consecutive tremors.
“We are here in Macuto, in the state of La Guaira, accompanying our people in the search and rescue of who were covered by structures and buildings that collapsed after the double earthquake we had yesterday. We are supporting the families. We extend our solidarity, because we hope to recover as many people as possible alive”, she declared.
The Special General Staff meeting established immediate priorities to address the coastal emergency and accelerate institutional decision-making, as the State strategy prioritizes the mobilization of heavy machinery to clear blocked roads, remove rubble and facilitate access for rescue vehicles.
Furthermore, Government plans include direct assistance to citizens who lost their homes during the seismic event. The Bolivarian State has mobilized emergency resources to guarantee the immediate supply of drinking water, food, blankets and mattresses to displaced families.

International Solidarity Arrives
The strategic emergency meeting in La Guaira involved key political and military authorities of the Venezuelan state. Participants included the sectoral vice president of Policy, Citizen Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez.
High-ranking commanders of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB, in Spanish) also attended the briefing to coordinate territorial logistics. The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, declared that “Venezuela is currently facing its most severe seismological crisis of the last three decades“.

To address this complex scenario, the Venezuelan Government formally requested specialized humanitarian aid from the international community. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez announced that international rescue delegations are scheduled to arrive in the country within the next few hours.
The first contingent of international rescuers from the Dominican Republic are going to join local brigades. Additional humanitarian teams and specialized personnel from other nations are expected to arrive shortly to strengthen search operations in La Guaira and other affected regions.
Rodriguez reiterated that saving lives remains the absolute priority of the Bolivarian Government. In this sense, public security forces and emergency rescue bodies will maintain active operations until all affected communities receive adequate assistance and structural stability is restored.
