The soldiers arrived in tanks armed with assault rifles and forced the builders to halt construction works, Al-Walaja Mayor Khader al-A’raj told WAFA.

The mayor added that the soldiers issued orders to stop construction works, claiming that the workers lacked permits from the occupying authorities.

The area is dotted with settlements of Israelis forcibly established to create human settlements, an activity prohibited by international laws regulating the conduct of occupying forces in foreign countries.
