    Honestly, I don’t understand why they gotta sell this AGI snake oil. Like…LLMs are an interesting technology…it’s not really that useful in most spheres but it’s neat. Deepseek has an extraordinary edge in making an LLM that’s relatively low-cost to train and to operate both in terms of money and environmental destruction. IDK why they can’t just lean into that instead of pretending they’re silicone valley tech-bros. Are they desperate for investment like those guys are? I guess maybe…i don’t know much about their situation. But the idea that AGI is gonna come out of LLMs is just so absurd that talking about it makes me rethink whether deepseek is any better than the rest, or if it’s just smaller.
