LABOUR MP Tahir Ali was cleared of breaching Parliament’s expenses rules today after an investigation found he was in fact “careful with spending public money.”
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa) found that the Birmingham MP funded “considerable” costs out of his own pocket when he could have claimed for them.
Ipsa opened its investigation into Mr Ali in May 2025 over questions about his office costs, travel and accommodation expenses.
