Colombia’s progressive leader Ivan Cepeda denounced this tuesday a series of threats against his campaign collaborators, amid tensions over the definitive scrutiny of the presidential runoff.

The Colombian Historic Pact candidate, Ivan Cepeda, stated on June 23, that corporate media conglomerates and traditional local analysts are actively spreading malicious interpretations to generate hostility against his team, exposing systematic attacks and severe digital security risks.

Cepeda pointed out that these coordinated maneuvers by the dominant press seek to delegitimize the 12,700,000 votes achieved by the progressive coalition, which represents a historical effort toward social and economic transformation in Colombia.

The progressive leader also exposed severe irregularities detected during the vote-counting process. He highlighted the alteration of the official E14 forms and the systematic suspension of physical minutes to block the work of digital witnesses.

These actions are designed to weaken the legal claims presented by the progressive coalition. The political alliance has already submitted thousands of formal challenges before the electoral authorities to safeguard democratic integrity.

Más de 600.000 colombianos votaron en el exterior. Sin embargo, el @CNE_COLOMBIA decidió dar por escrutados esos votos sin contar con el material electoral físico proveniente de los consulados.

Text reads: “More than 600,000 Colombians voted abroad. However, the @CNE_COLOMBIA decided to count these votes without counting the physical electoral material from the consulates. Electoral transparency requires verification, traceability and citizen control. Democracy cannot be reduced to validating digitized forms.”

Media Hostility and Threats

Ivan Cepeda explained that the media apparatus seeks to diminish the political relevance of the left-wing coalition. He rejected attempts to reduce the popular vote to a simple design mistake or an insignificant geopolitical fraction. According to the progressive leader, classifying this historical electoral outcome as minor constitutes a profound disrespect to the sovereign will of the people.

In this sense, Cepeda reaffirmed the ethical transparency of his electoral platform, meanwhile he recalled that the campaign rejected traditional political marketing, unscrupulous pacts and cheap demagogy from its inception, prioritizing political dignity and program consistency.

The legal team of the Historic Pact coalition continues to file formal complaints regarding the irregularities found in the polling stations, aiming to guarantee that every single vote is accurately counted.

These actions are supported by social movements, trade unions, and peasant organizations across the country. They view this process as a critical step toward consolidating real democracy and peace in the South American nation.

Currently, thousands of political activists and digital witnesses remain mobilized throughout the national territory, actively monitoring the official counting centers to prevent any attempt at electoral fraud or manipulation.

In the coming days, international observers will also present their reports on the Colombian elections, which is crucial to validate the democratic process amid local tensions and corporate pressure.

The National Electoral Council is expected to deliver an official statement regarding the final results of the scrutiny soon.
