How did you get involved with anti-war activism and World BEYOND War (WBW)?

A friend, who was coordinating at the time, invited me to participate. She shared the initiative with me, and I found it incredibly interesting. At that time, I wanted to get back to my activism, and it was an opportunity that came at the perfect moment.

What kinds of WBW activities do you work on?

I’m the Chapter Coordinator for the WBW El Salvador Chapter. I’m in charge of planning the year’s activities, managing social media, and I’m also responsible for the education area, training sessions, and representing the El Salvador Chapter at meetings and events with the other coordinators.

What’s your top recommendation for someone who wants to get involved with anti-war activism and WBW?

I would say don’t hesitate to get involved. Activism for peace and an end to war is one of the best things you can do. You meet incredible people, you learn, you participate in in-person activities, and even if it doesn’t seem like it, you make a significant contribution to the world, leaving it better than you found it.

What keeps you inspired to advocate for change?

I’m motivated by the desire for Salvadoran families to live with dignity and justice. I advocate for change because I believe in a peace built on the defense of human rights and solidarity among communities. Furthermore, I’m convinced that peace is not just the absence of war, but the active defense of human dignity. In El Salvador, we see how layoffs, lack of access to land, and human rights violations generate suffering and division. I believe change is necessary so that our communities can live with justice, hope, and respect. My commitment to World BEYOND War stems from the desire to build a country where community organizing and solidarity are stronger than violence and exclusion.
