Iranian Parliament Speaker and head of the country’s negotiating team Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said Iran’s Armed Forces are prepared to respond to any action by Washington.
“Don’t they realize that if their threats had worked, they would not have reached the desperate situation they are in today? We do not attach any importance to the Americans’ threats,” he said, warning Washington that “it would be better if they watched what they say.”
“No matter how much they talk, we are the ones who act,” Qalibaf added, emphasizing that Iran’s Armed Forces are ready “to respond to them in a different way.”

The Iranian statements came in response to threats made by Trump on Sunday when the Republican leader threatened to attack Iran again if it does not stop the actions of the Hezbollah resistance movement and its Lebanese allies.
“If they do not (prevent their agents from causing problems in Lebanon), we will attack Iran again with great force, just like last week, but even more!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
Earlier, in an interview with Fox News, the U.S. president warned Tehran about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, saying that if that happens, “they would no longer have a country and they would not even be able to return to it.” He also suggested that the United States could become the “guardian angel” of the Strait of Hormuz and charge tariffs for guaranteeing navigation.
On Saturday, Iran’s Armed Forces announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to Israeli bombings in Lebanon and warned ships not to approach the strategic waterway.
