On Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the Israeli military “will not withdraw” from the area it occupies in southern Lebanon, despite the ceasefire agreed to with Hezbollah.

He argued that the ceasefire announced on Saturday allows the Israeli military to maintain “all of its positions in the security zone that protects northern communities.”
Katz also said the Israeli military will continue “operating from there into the interior against terrorists and terrorist infrastructure” during the truce.
Despite the supposed ceasefire, the Israeli occupation army has continued attacking Lebanon in recent days, leaving at least 50 people dead and dozens injured. Since the offensive began in March, however, Zionist forces have killed more than 4,000 people in Lebanon.
In response to the Zionist aggression, Hezbollah launched more than 50 projectiles at Israeli forces on Friday night. In clashes with the resistance movement early Sunday, four Israeli soldiers were killed.
