Religion being legislatively “untouchable” is a good part of the reason why the sexual and gender discrimination and hate is so persistent. For example, the bible advocates beating children with a rod until their bellies are striped (black and blue), among other assertions, such as “god made Adam and Eve”. Per the First Amendment, government regulators are not allowed to synchronize the bible’s text with current law and scientific understanding. Any battles for equality fought and won by prior generations have the cultural and religious negative pressure reapplied in future generations, because preachers continue preaching ancient, outdated texts, and indoctrinate children into these immoral and unscientific beliefs.
